Remembering a Giant of a Man, Malcolm X
Human rights activist and religious leader Malcolm X (El-Hajj Malik El-Shabazz) was assassinated on February 21, 1965 at the Audobon Ballroom in the Washington Heights area of New York City. According to MalcolmX.com, Malcolm’s assassins, Talmadge Hayer, Norman 3X Butler and Thomas 15X Johnson were convicted of first-degree murder in March 1966. The three men were all members of the Nation of Islam.
Today, I remember one of the greatest influences in my life as an activist, intellectual and person of faith. Malcolm, your legacy helped radicalize me and millions of others. Thank you.
